The American Civil Liberties Union issued the following news release:
A federal judge has ordered the Secretary of the Commonwealth to list Bob Barr and Wayne A. Root as the Libertarian Party candidates for President and Vice-President on the November ballot. As a result of a suit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts, Barr and Root, who were selected at the party's nominating convention, will be substituted for George Phillies and Chris Bennett, two unsuccessful candidates whose names appeared on the party's state nominating petitions.
The Libertarian Party does not currently qualify as a "political party" under Massachusetts law because it did not have a candidate ...
