Article: SKOKIE SWIFT RIDERSHIP INCREASES - WEEKEND SERVICE TO CONTINUE

The village of Skokie issued the following news release:

The CTA reports a 7.3% increase in weekday Skokie Swift Yellow Line ridership during July 2008, by comparison to a 4% ridership increase in the entire CTA rail system that month. For 2008 year-to-date, ridership on the Skokie Swift Yellow Line is up nearly 15%, with just over a 6% ridership increase across the entire CTA rail system.

In addition, the CTA announced that it will continue to offer weekend service on the Skokie Swift. Instituted earlier this year on a trial basis, weekend Skokie Swift ridership has been brisk.
