Article: SEN. LEAHY ISSUES STATEMENT REGARDING PASSAGE OF RUNAWAY AND HOMELESS YOUTH PROTECTION ACT

The Senate Judiciary Committee issued the following member statement:

This spring, I was proud to introduce the bipartisan "Runaway and Homeless Youth Protection Act of 2008" along with Senator Specter, the ranking Republican on the Judiciary Committee. I am pleased that finally, after four months of delay due to an objection, the Senate has acted to pass this important bill.

The "Runaway and Homeless Youth Protection Act" was included in the "Advancing America's Priorities Act," a larger package of bills the Senate considered this summer.
