The welcome party for the 15,000 members of the media covering the Democratic National Convention in Denver was held, rather appropriately, at a giant amusement park called Elitch Gardens. Everything was free for the night and so, there among the roller coasters and water slides, the people who help write the election storyline wolfed down buffalo meatballs and crowded into lines for mojitos and beer.
