The Produce Marketing Association issued the following news release:
Produce Marketing Association (PMA) submitted comments recently to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regarding the agency's mandatory country of origin labeling (COOL) interim final rule, offering suggestions on how to address issues that have been identified so far by industry members attempting to apply the interim rule.
Writing for PMA, Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs Kathy Means advocated for USDA to refine the definition of a processed product to include any fresh-cut produce item, even those not combined with another substantive food item or other covered commodity. PMA also ...
