Salt Lake County Aging Services to build new $5 million senior center in Magna

Ground is scheduled to be broken next month for a new $5 million senior center in Magna.

The one-level center, just less than 20,000 square feet, will be built on 2.8 acres formerly occupied by the Webster School at 9228 W. 2700 S., said David Turner, program manager for senior centers at Salt Lake County Aging Services, which will own and operate the facility. It will replace and existing senior center, less than 5,000 square feet in size, at 8952 W. 2700 S., which will become a community center for the township of Magna. The new center is expected to take 10 to 15 months to complete.
