Ohio restaurant chain to open in St. George, eyes northern Utah

Rise & Dine, a Columbus, Ohio-based restaurant chain that serves only breakfast and lunch, is preparing to open its first Utah franchise in St. George on Oct. 1.

"The breakfast- and lunch-oriented restaurant is our niche," said Butch Velie, president and chief executive officer of Rise & Dine. "What we found is that the restaurant industry is currently finding that breakfast is in demand and a good breakfast is in high demand. People like to have breakfast and they like to have it all day long, not just in the morning."

Velie founded Rise & Dine two years ago, inspired by a successful, long-established chain operating on Florida's Gulf Coast called Peaches.
