Article: SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY CONTINUES RECORD-BREAKING ENROLLMENT IN STATE

South Dakota State University issued the following news release:

South Dakota State University continued its enrollment record for the ninth consecutive year, growing to 11,995 students in 2008.

Enrollment figures released this morning by the South Dakota Board of Regents show SDSU's fall semester head count to be up 289 students (2.5 percent) from the previous year. State continues to be the largest university in South Dakota. Its enrollment has increased by 40 percent over the last nine years.

South Dakota State's enrollment climb is the result of an increase in new freshmen and transfer students, as well as an increase in graduate students this fall.
