A report from Ofsted has found that childcare settings including nurseries and childminders have improved over the last three years in England, but standards are lower in deprived areas.
Unite/CPHVA professional officer Maggie Fisher stated: 'We work locally and nationally with the National Childminding Association and other organisations to improve the quality of childcare provision. There needs to be a robust keyworking system in childcare environments so that children and infants are able to form secure attachments with their childminder or nursery worker, which is fundamental for the child's development.'
