Lord Arthur's 'infernals': Balfour and the concertina

THAT THE STATESMAN Arthur James Balfour (1848-1930, Prime Minister 1902-1905) - best remembered today for his famous 'Declaration' of 1917, which supported Zionist plans for a Jewish homeland in Palestine - played the English concertina has long been known to concertinists, Balfour specialists, and even a few musicologists.
