The U.S. Department of Justice's U.S. Attorney's office for Maryland issued the following press release:
U.S. Magistrate Judge Beth P. Gesner ordered Ricky Terrence Powell, age 20, of the U.S. Virgin Islands, residing in Towson, to be extradited to the British Virgin Islands to stand trial on charges relating to the August 2007 armed robbery of the National Bank of the Virgin Islands, announced United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein. The extradition hearing was held yesterday based on a complaint filed on July 16, 2008. Powell has been detained since his arrest on July 18, 2008.
