At a VFW-sponsored meeting of health-care advocates in June, attendees agreed that VA must focus more time and resources on preventive medical practices. The Patient Advocacy Leaders Summit held in Washington, D.C., attracted almost 100 representatives of more than three dozen medical and veterans groups.
The summit hosted four seminars focusing on traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
