Halt Goggle Sales to Iraq, Says VFW

Concerned that the proposed sale of night-vision goggles to Iraq could endanger U.S. troops, VFW expressed its opposition directly to the Pentagon in July.

"VFW's concern stems from Iraq's past performance and inability to account for other high-tech weapons and equipment provided to them by the U.S.," former VFW Commander-in-Chief George Lisicki wrote in a letter.
