The OULIPO is a literary group that investigates the literary potential of formal structures. Does an Oulipian aesthetics exist? According to Hervé Le Tellier, writer, professor of linguistics, and member of the OULIPO since 1992, to find the answer one must look to the reader. If a literary work bears aesthetic value, he asserts, the proof of that value lies in the aesthetic sentiment, or more precisely the aesthetic pleasure, experienced by the reader.
