David Sanborn is one of the most influential saxophonists of the 20th century. His influences, however, are the less known saxophonists Ray Charles featured in his early bands: Hank Crawford and David "Fathead" Newman. On Here Et Gone Sanborn pays tribute to them with his most wonderfully down-and-dirty, heavily blues-oriented and soulful disc since 1978's Heart To Heart.
