Article: California, Washington Inventors Develop Intelligent Array Radio Architecture

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 14 -- Hung C. Nguyen and Ruoyang Lu, both of Milpitas, Calif., Jifeng Geng of San Diego, and Catherine A. French of Olympia, Wash., have developed a ultrawideband communication system.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A receiver sets weights for an antenna array according to a series of algorithms including an energy algorithm, a least squares algorithm and a least mean square algorithm."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,433,414 on Oct. 7.

The patent has been assigned to Sigma Designs Inc., Milpitas.
