Ausmelt Limited: Ausmelt Limited (Melbourne, Australia) has signed the final contract with Empresa Metalurgica Vinto to use Ausmelt Technology for a new tin smelter in Oruro, Bolivia. The contract covers the supply of equipment and site services. The basic engineering design is scheduled for completion in October, and is planned to process around 38,000 t a year of tin concentrates. These concentrates will be smelted and reduced sequentially in a two-stage process in a single furnace to produce approximately 18,000 t of tin metal a year.
