Southwest Conference Welcomes Back Justice Stevens; Annual Views from the Bench Held in B.C.
The longest-serving member of the Supreme Court, Justice John Paul Stevens, was the featured guest speaker during the 16th annual Southwest Bankruptcy Conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas on Sept. 5 (for more on Justice Stevens' speech, see p. 83). Stevens, appointed in 1975 by President Ford, again shared his thoughts on his years of service on the Court, during an after-lunch conversation with Judges James Gregg (W. D. Mich) and Eugene Wedoff (N .D. Ill), along with ABI Executive Director Sam Gerdano. Justice Stevens last spoke at the program in 2006.
