Article: Paroxetine withdrawal: Nocturnal enuresis: case report

A 47-year-old woman with social anxiety disorder developed nocturnal enuresis after withdrawal of paroxetine following symptomatic improvement.

After approximately 6 months' therapy with paroxetine 20 mg/day in the morning, the woman was advised to gradually discontinue the drug over the following month. This involved tapering the dosage to 10 mg/day for 15 days and then to 10 mg/day on alternate days for 2 weeks before stopping completely. However, after starting the alternateday regimen, she experienced two episodes of enuresis while sleeping, corresponding to the days where she did not receive paroxetine (days 1 and 3).
