Article: French Inventor Develops Flowline Insulation System

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 31 -- Jean-Francois Saint-Marcoux of Paris has developed an insulation systems for sub-sea hydrocarbon flowlines.

According to a description of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to insulation systems for sub-sea hydrocarbon flowlines, and in particular to systems for controlling the overall heat transfer coefficient of conduits insulated by pipe-in-pipe construction."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,441,602 on Oct. 28.

The patent has been assigned to Acergy France SA, Suresnes, France.
