Medical treatments for androgenetic alopecia will take time
San Francisco - Approaches to the treatment of androgenetic alopecia are constantly evolving, but it may be some time before any significant changes reach the dermatologist's desk.
About 60 percent of the dermatology practice of Vera Price, M.D., professor of dermatology, University of California, San Francisco, deals with issues of hair.
The surgical approach to hair loss can help certain patients and has improved dramatically over the years, but it's still not for everyone, Dr. Price says.
