Article: WIPO: Inventors in France Develop Composite Material Part

GENEVA, Nov. 19 - Caroline Louchet-Pouillerie of Arsac, France, Henri Tawil of Le Bouscat, France, and Eric Bouillon of Talence, France, have developed an environmental barrier.

According to an abstract posted by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the invention relates to an "environmental barrier for a substrate made of a composite material with a ceramic matrix containing silicon, essentially SiC, which is formed by an anti-corrosion protection layer containing an aluminosilicate-type compound of an alkaline or alkaline-earth or rare-earth element."

The invention carries International Patent Publication No. WO/2008/078024 on Oct. 2.
