The office of Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., issued the following news release:

United States Senators Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Bob Casey (D-Pa.) today introduced a Senate Resolution congratulating the Philadelphia Phillies on a triumphant World Series victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the resolution, Senators Specter and Casey applaud the Philadelphia Phillies, including manager Charlie Manuel, as well as the coaches and support staff "whose commitment to the Phillies franchise has sustained this proud organization and allowed the team to reach the pinnacle of success in 2008."
