Article: STATE TO REQUIRE REPORTING OF CARBON MONOXIDE EXPOSURE OR POISONING

The Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals issued the following press release:

The Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) is now requiring that cases of carbon monoxide exposure or poisoning must be reported to the State Health Officer within five businesses days. This illness was recently added to the state's list of Reportable Diseases and Conditions due to the high number of carbon monoxide related poisonings during the winter months and after hurricane-related power outages (State Sanitary Code, Title 51, Part II, Chapter 1).
