Some companies cut back on staff get-togethers this Christmas

Some are decking out their warehouse instead of a hotel ballroom. Others are canning the karaoke and forgoing the festive bouquets.

But hospitality-industry officials say most Manitoba companies aren't letting the economic downturn completely kill their Christmas spirit this year. They're still going ahead with their annual staff Christmas parties, although some may not be as lavish as in past years.
