The Indiana Department of Natural Resources issued the following news release:
Celebrate an 1800s Christmas in Spring Mill State Park's Pioneer Village on Dec. 13, in an event geared toward children, ages 6-12.
From 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., kids can do some of the things pioneer children did during the holidays, making some of the same crafts and playing some of the same games.
Participants will make a ball and cup toy, a wooden top, dip a small pair of candles, and create a mouse or pig out of clay. They also will be able to play three period games called "The Ball of Wool," "Catch the Ring," and the "Clothespin Game."
