Gov. Dave Freudenthal, D-Wyo., issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, voting is one of our most basic rights and is the main cornerstone of our democracy. All of our inalienable rights, whether freedom of speech, the right to assemble, or the right to keep and bear arms are protected by our right to vote. Voting guarantees that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed; and
WHEREAS, Wyoming enjoys the distinction of being the first territory and state to give women the right to vote and hold office. No small wonder: Wyoming's magnificent snow capped mountains, crystal clear lakes and streams, wide open spaces, and blue skies are surpassed only by its people, ...
