EL Paso County issued the following news release:
The El Paso County Clerk & Recorder's Office today initiated a reduction in workforce necessary to balance its 2009 operating budget. These reductions in force were anticipated at the time the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) approved the Preliminary 2009 El Paso County Budget Option One. Budget Option One was developed in the event that County Ballot Question 1A was rejected by voters in the General Election.
Eliminated positions in the Clerk & Recorder's Office include seven vacant positions and nineteen currently held positions that will not be filled in the foreseeable future. Full-time employee layoffs include ...
