Article: Ohio Inventors Develop Pressure Sensor Compliant Pin Incorporating System

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 10 -- Wayne A. Lamb of London, Ohio, Ryan S. Jones of Dublin, Ohio and Marsha M. Martin of Columbus, Ohio, have developed a method of incorporating a compliant pin in a pressure sensor. The patent has been assigned to Honeywell International Inc., Morristown, N.J.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of incorporating compliant pins in a pressure sensor that uses printed circuit board (PCB) and is press fitted into the compliant pins. The compliant pins are made in the leadframe and the leadframes are molded into the plastic housing. The PCB is press fitted to the leadframe/housing assembly."
