The Nebraska Health and Human Services System issued the following news release:
Dennis Berens, Administrator of the Office of Rural Health for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Public Health, has been elected President-Elect of the 18,000 member National Rural Health Association (NRHA). Berens will take over as President in January of 2010.
"My number one goal will be to move the National Rural Health Association to where it is a knowledge center based organization for the nation, which can also help the rest of the world," Berens said.
