Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates visited U.S. Naval Forces Central Command headquarters here today prior to the start of the International Institute for Strategic Studies Manama Dialogue.
Gates met with Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of U.S. Central Command, Navy Vice Adm. William E. Gortney, commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, and other senior U.S. and Persian Gulf region officials to discuss regional security issues.
