Article: Sen. Specter Introduces Bill Concerning Public Hearing before Issuance of Permits Affecting Public Land Use in Localities

WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 -- Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pennsylvania, has introduced a bill (S. 3733) to "require the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to hold at least 1 public hearing before issuance of a permit affecting public or private land use in a locality."

The bill was introduced on Dec. 11. It was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
