ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- Charles A. Yow Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas, Daniel Leyva Jr. of Arlington, Texas, Terry Lee Cooke of Hickory, N.C., and John Bradley Johnson of Taylorsville, N.C., have developed a fanout furcation kit. The patent has been assigned to Corning Cable Systems LLC, Hickory, N.C.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Furcation tubing is made of glass-filled Teflon (PTFE) that provides reduced longitudinal shrinkage and increased tensile bond strength in the standard colors utilized for fiber identification. The furcation tubing experiences no more longitudinal shrinkage than furcation tubing made of polyvinylidene fluoride ...
