Article: United Way of Greater Mercer County

In the early 1930's, a group of committed business and community leaders came together to create two of New Jersey's first Community Chests in Trenton and Princeton. Now, more than 70 years later United Way of Greater Mercer County continues the work started by visionary leaders in Mercer County.

Through the years the organization has been known by many names - Community Chest, War Fund, Red Feather Campaign, United Givers Fund - and today United Way of Greater Mercer County. While the name has changed the mission has remained - caring for the community - creating hope and opportunity for the people of New Jersey's Capitol County.
