A woman underwent three egg-retrieval cycles within a few months. The retrieval protocol used included SC leuprorelin 250µg twice daily for 2-3 weeks [actual duration not stated], menotropin [Pergonal] 3 amps/day [concentration and duration not stated], and IM chorionic gonadotropin 10 000 units [duration and frequency not stated]. Four years later, at 29 years of age, she reported abdominal cramps. Colonoscopy failed due to severe intestinal obstruction; a subsequent CT scan revealed peritoneal carcinomatosis, as well as tumour involvement of her colon and both ovaries.
