A 48-year-old man developed fulminant liver failure following treatment with Ibuprofen [dosage, therapeutic indication and duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated].

The man developed fulminant liver failure and underwent liver transplantation and, intraoperatively, was diagnosed with acute necrotising pancreatitis; he required orotracheal intubation. After an exhaustive study of the aetiology, ibuprofen-related drug toxicity was identified as a probable cause of his fulminant liver failure. He had grade IV encephalopathy.
