LONG BEFORE Barack Obama began 'measuring the drapes' at the White House, gospel singer Lester Lewis envisioned a black man occupying the Oval Office at America's most famous residence.

In fact, 12 years before Obama became the first black man elected president of the United States, Lewis wrote I Saw a Black Man in The White House, a song that went ignored until Obama's historic victory Tuesday, November 4.
