The city of Knoxville issued the following press release:
The Miller's Building, KUB's downtown Knoxville headquarters, has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) prestigious ENERGY STAR, the national symbol for superior energy efficiency and environmental protection. Commercial buildings and industrial plants that rate in the top 25 percent of facilities in the nation for energy efficiency may qualify for the ENERGY STAR.
The Miller's Building, located at 445 S. Gay Street, was originally built in 1905. KUB moved into the renovated facility in 2000. The building quickly served as a catalyst for other downtown Knoxville redevelopment.
