The National Sleep Foundation issued the following news release:

Insomnia, which is Latin for "no sleep," is the inability to fall asleep or remain asleep. According to National Sleep Foundation polls dating back to 1999, over half of America's adults experience one or more symptoms of insomnia at least a few nights a week, including waking up frequently during the night, waking up too early in the morning, unrefreshing sleep, daytime sleepiness, difficulty concentrating and irritability.
