Article: Travelling with kids? Know the rules

Every few weeks I get questions about the need for passports for children. In the same vein, as in our first question, often the travel with a child or children will be with just one of the parents. Regardless of the reason, if the child is crossing borders with just one parent, specific steps need to be taken in advance to ensure their departure can take place with a minimum of hassle.

Q. Can an 11-year-old boy travel from Winnipeg to the Dominican Republic without a passport? He would be travelling with his dad and companion, who have passports.
