Article: POLICE CHIEF CANDIDATE WITHDRAWS NAME

The city of Columbia issued the following news release:

Saluda, South Carolina, Police Chief Michael J. Clancey has withdrawn from the city of Columbia's police chief search process. That leaves four candidates who will be here today and tomorrow for interviews and other events to familiarize them with this community.

The city learned of Clancey's withdrawal on Saturday from Slavin Management Consultants, the firm that's helping manage the search process. According to the consulting firm, an injury is preventing him from flying here for the interview.
