This letter is in response to "Hello and Goodbye: Should you offer a recently retired CEO a seat on your board of directors?" which appeared in the November 2008 issue of Credit Union Management.

It just makes sense to retain the expertise of a good and experienced chief executive officer. Why wouldn't you want them to serve when they are volunteering their service?
