The city of Cedar Rapids issued the following news release:
The Cedar Rapids Police Department was kept busy this morning, working a total of 16 crashes, all of which were property damage only. The crashes began about 6:00 AM and continued thru the morning commute. The crashes were wide spread throughout the city, with most being along or on I380. Here is the breakdown:
I380 10 Crashes at the intersection of: Hwy 30 - 3 33 Ave SW - 2 Wilson Ave SW - 1
5 in 1 Bridge - 2 H Ave NE - 2
Business/Residential - 5
Many factors played into the number of accidents this morning. Black ice, following too closely and speed were all factors that caused many of the crashes. Plus that with the current snow ...
