An idea now percolating through the community to establish a medical school at Brandon University could receive a valuable endorsement from its incoming president.

As the Sun reported last week, Deborah Poff, the Vice-President Academic and Provost at the University of Northern British Columbia, will be installed as BU's 16th president and vice-chancellor when outgoing president Lou Visentin retires at the end of July - and she brings with her a keen knowledge of how a medical school can flourish in a smaller urban centre.
