Article: CITY OFFERS TIPS FOR WINTER WEATHER

The city of Louisville issued the following news release:

As the city endures a second day of very low temperatures, the Louisville Metro Emergency Management Agency is offering advice on staying warm safely.

"Everyone is potentially at risk during frigid weather," said EMA director Doug Hamilton. "People can develop hypothermia from prolonged exposure to cold."

Hamilton recommends listening to a weather radio or a commercial radio or television station to stay informed about temperature changes.

"All emergency preparation begins with the same four steps," Hamilton said. "Be aware, be prepared, have a kit and make a plan."
