In just one example of many, Unmet Needs recently helped out a military family with an expense it would have otherwise had trouble meeting.

Army Spc. Joshua Leuck served tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. While training at Ft. Lewis, Wash., for his third tour, he suffered severe pain in his ankles, back and knees, making him non-deployable.

Anticipating his medical discharge, Lueck and his wife tried to save money to care for their three children. After the cost of rent at their Tacoma, Wash., apartment went up, they decided to move home to Idaho.
