Article: Fertilizer dealers not to be found

Fertilizer manufacturers appear to be hiding from the wrath of angry producers who believe large corporations have been gouging the farming industry, Keystone Agricultural Producers president Ian Wishart says.

"They're removing themselves from direct exposure to farmers," Wishart said yesterday. "We would argue they've been profiteering in the marketplace. Perhaps they're a little embarrassed by it."

He points to Ag Days, which wrapped up yesterday in Brandon, as a prime example."None of the major (fertilizer) companies were there this year. Last year, we had Koch Industries ... But this year, they aren't there."
