WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 -- Rep. Steve Buyer, R-Indiana, has introduced the Department of Veterans Affairs Energy Sustainability Act of 2009 (H.R. 292), legislation that would "improve energy and water efficiencies and conservation throughout the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)."

The bill, introduced on Jan. 8, was co-spo9nsored by Reps. Mike Michaud, D-Maine; Tim Walz, D-Minnesota; Henry E. Brown Jr., R-South Carolina; Gus Bilirakis, R-Florida; John Boozman, R-Arkansas; Doug Lamborn, R-Colorado; Phil Hare, D-Illinois; Vern Buchanan, R-Florida; and Jeff Miller, R-Florida.
