Mesa County issued the following news release:

Establishments received no critical violations on unannounced inspections. In October 1991, the Mesa County Board of Health authorized the implementation of a program to recognize licensed retail food service establishments in Mesa County which consistently maintain superior sanitation practices. To receive the "Blue Ribbon Award," retail food service establishments must provide a "full service" menu, provide seating, be open to the general public and receive no violations of a critical nature during the calendar year.
