Article: Mori Seiki's President Sees Difficult Year Ahead

During a press conference at the recent JIMTOF 2008 show, Dr. Masahiko Mori, president of Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. (Nagoya City, Aichi, Japan), addressed recent developments in the global machine tool industry, and the challenges facing the machine tool industry in 2009.

Dr. Mori believes that the machine tool business began slowing in October of 2007, and that difficulties created by the subprime mortgage crisis are now coming into view.
